Exploring power, education, politics and queer culture, EXAM was the outcome of a four month process with groups from the North West’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities.

The engagement resulted in the production of a carefully researched set of eight exam papers designed to highlight the role and importance of queer culture.

EXAM premiered as part of the Queer Up North Festival 2010, where 100 candidates were invited to take part in an immersive art event, sitting each of the exam papers over a rigorously invigilated two hour performance.
