Exploring power, education, politics and queer culture, EXAM was the result of a four month engagement project with groups from the North West’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities.

The project culminated in a one day public art event, reinforced by various assets designed to provide participants with a cohesive, immersive experience.

A collection of EXAM branded postcards were produced, each featuring a provocative image associated with gay culture. The set includes a digital still taken from the film Sebastiane (1976), depicting Saint Sebastian’s iconic martyrdom by arrows.

UHC also designed exam papers for the event that reflected the aesthetic of official AQA documents.

EXAM premiered as part of the Queer Up North Festival 2010.
