Begun in 2009, extInked was an art and ecology project in which 100 original drawings of endangered British species were tattooed onto 100 volunteers.
Published to commemorate the project, UHC’s extInked Book contained 100 indexed and referenced species files, profusely illustrated in monochrome by artist Jai Redman.
The work recorded the full catalogue of species as first presented to the general public in the City of Salford, Greater Manchester on the 12th November 2009.
Lovingly designed and typeset, the book was printed in a limited edition of 100, each hand-finished with a yellow trace paper bellyband.
